DAY SEVENTEEN: “For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways” (Psalm 91:11).
If there were only one psalm I could encourage you memorize, take to heart, and teach your children and grandchildren, it would be all of Psalm 91.
When you grab hold of the truths within this psalm and claim them for yourself and loved ones, you will live in a place of overcoming power and peace in every situation. (FYI: We do have Psalm 91 as one of our Scripture Sequences in the PraiseMoves Flow DVD.)
The Amplified Bible translates verse 11 like this, “For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].”
I have experienced this special angelic protection on numerous occasions.
When you claim a promise from God, such as this one, and declare it as yours, you will experience the benefits of it. However, if we do not consciously claim and receive God’s promises for ourselves, they will not fall on our heads like fruit off a tree. Our wonderful heavenly Father is fair and just, and has given us freedom of choice. Choose to live in God’s blessings, meditate on them, take them as yours; praise and thank Him for them, and you will have them.
Taking it Personally
Here’s an example of how I have claimed Psalm 91:11 protection for myself and loved ones. For over 20 years now, I have said when I’m traveling in my car, “I thank You, Lord, that You give Your angels charge over me to keep me safe in all my ways. Thank You, Father that they lift me up in their hands lest I dash my foot against a stone. I thank You that all animals, vehicles, people, flying and stationary objects stay at least ten feet away from me as I travel, in Jesus’ name. I am under the precious Blood of Jesus, and I speak the Blood of Jesus over my vehicle bumper-to-bumper, side-to-side, inside and out. All parts of this vehicle function perfectly in Jesus’ name. I will get to my destination safely and on time, and come home rejoicing, in Jesus’ precious name. Amen!”
Defying the Laws of Physics
I have driven my vehicle through storms and have seen things which defy the laws of physics—but they happened. Once the car I was driving began to hydroplane into the center median on the expressway during rush hour traffic. I had been praying in the spirit, proclaiming God’s promises and praising Him. As the vehicle started to spin completely around, I believe mighty angels grabbed hold of my car and spun it in the right direction with a jolt. I was then slowly guided across three suddenly empty lanes of traffic to the shoulder, praising the Lord.
You could almost *hear* the drivers in the cars behind me gasp and exclaim a collective, “Whoa!”
Thank You, Jesus that You have given Your angels special charge over us to keep us on ALL our ways!
