21 Days of Fasting – Keep on Wenting

DAY ELEVEN:Is this not the fast that I have chosen…Your healing shall spring forth speedily... (Isaiah 58:6&8)

We are discovering more rewards associated with fasting – “and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly” (Matthew 6:17-18).

Your health shall spring forth speedily.

We are at the halfway mark of our fast. How are you doing? What is the Lord saying to you?

Fasting brings forth health “speedily.” Some may call that “miraculous.” Did you know that a miracle is simply the process of healing with the element of time compressed? Likewise, healing may be considered “a miracle over time.”

What’s this “Keep on ‘Wenting'” Business?

We often have to “walk out” our healing, as the lepers did who received their healing in Luke 17. Jesus told them to do something–to show themselves to the priest. And they were healed “AS THEY WENT.”

As they continued going forward, being obedient and following what Jesus told them to do, they were healed. I often tell people after I’ve prayed with them and they’ve received their healing by faith, “Keep on ‘wenting!’ You’ve received you’re healing by faith. Now thank the Lord–and keep thanking and praising Him. You have it!”

God Leads in Steps, Not Leaps.

In your obedience to the Lord, and following Him, He may have you make changes in your diet (such as limit processed foods, eat more what I call “God-made foods” instead of “man-made foods;” exercise — such as do PraiseMoves! hah!).

That’s what the Lord had me do for 18 months as I was “walking out” a healing I had received in 2004. I followed a completely vegan diet, no sugar, as well as no soy, no flour products, almost all “God-made foods.” I did this in obedience to the Lord until I sensed His telling me to change.

The complete physical manifestation of my healing occurred in 2006, but I received my healing by faith in 2004. Does that sound like double-talk? It’s not, really. Those of you who have children knew you were going to have a new member of the family months before you actually held him or her in your arms.

God leads in steps, not leaps. Faith is a daily walk, not a blind leap.

Worshiping Brings Wholeness

Notice the one man, a stranger, who came back and worshiped the Lord. This former leper was made “completely whole.” I like to think that the very ravages of leprosy (missing fingers and decayed pieces of his nose and ears) were completely restored and made every whit whole. Doesn’t that sound like our Jesus to you?

RECEIVE your healing. Your health springs forth speedily. Receive it by faith (the most powerful force in all the universe–the faith God has given you in His Word–“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” according to Romans 10:17).

Your healing has already been paid for by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. You may have an instantaneous manifestation of the healing you’ve received, or it may come over a process of time. Either way, it’s all God and His precious will for you in action.

Look up healing scriptures in the Bible, meditate on them and speak them aloud. Take the Word of God personally for yourself. He watches over His word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12 and Isaiah 55:11). You may see our Healing Scriptures CD – or consider the healing scriptures I have included below.

Do you need to receive healing?

PLEASE – do not make the mistake of saying, “I know God will heal me.” I cringe inside whenever I hear that. It’s like saying, “I know I’ll be human one day.” You already are! Don’t let the devil talk you out of it! “Yeah, but these symptoms…” I know. Believe me, I know!

Don’t Exalt Experiences above the Word of God

It is so tempting to exalt our experiences or the experiences of those we love over the Word of God. “Aunt Martha loved God and she got sick and died.” I’m sure Aunt Martha was a wonderful woman, but her experience does not negate God’s Word. Yet, we create doctrines that say God heals sometimes, but not all the time–or God is “teaching us something” through sickness (although that’s nowhere in the Bible; in fact 2 Timothy 3:16 says that’s Scripture’s job: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…“).

Who is the Author of Sickness?

In John 10, Jesus said the enemy of your soul “comes to steal, kill and destroy.” In addition, He did not say that God the Father was in the habit of working together with satan to teach us a thing or two, but rather “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Does this mean we ignore doctors? Not at all! They are on the same side we are–fighting sickness and disease. Don’t throw your prescribed medicine away–wait until your doctor tells you that you don’t need it anymore (and I’ve heard of that happening numerous times!). While prescriptions cannot cure you, they can certainly help control symptoms while you are receiving and walking out your healing.

We can argue, or we can be well. Which do you choose? There’s SO much I want and need to learn!!! I want to be “every whit whole,” don’t you?

Let this be the day you receive your healing–whether you are fasting right now or not.

“That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses(Matthew 8:17).

How to Receive Your Healing from God

Here are scriptures which have SAVED MY LIFE and helped me receive the healing Jesus bought and paid for me–and YOU!

Please turn in your Bible to Proverbs 4:20-22. Read it aloud. The word “health” in verse 22 is “marpe” in Hebrew, which means “medicine.” The Word is the one medicine you can take and take and take and never take too much!

Now, please look up the following: Psalm 107:20, Matthew 8:17, Isaiah 53:4-5 and 1 Peter 2:24. These four scriptures are the medicine to “take” by speaking aloud and personally appropriating 3x per day (or more). Speak them aloud as they are written and also say them in the first person as scriptural affirmations.

This is not “vain repetition,” but God’s promises to you which build your faith (“the substance of things hoped for” according to Hebrews 11:1).

Perhaps you’ve heard me say before that since God is Spirit,  everything you receive from God is received in your spirit first. Jesus said, “Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24). I say that aloud and add, “It is mine! I have it now! Thank You, Lord!”

As you take action on your faith by praising and thanking God for it (keep on “wenting”), you will see the manifestation of the healing you have received.

I remind myself almost daily that my “body is the temple of the Holy Spirit” (according to 1 Corinthians 6:19).  As a believer, yours is too! So your body is God’s property! You can say, “My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit of God, and nothing of the enemy can exist in the temple of the Most High God!”

That’s how I was taught – and have experienced countless healings as a result. God is faithful to His Word to perform it. Yes, He is faithful—and YOU are loved!

And then, keep on “wenting”!
